The Strictly Come Dancing 2021 line-up – well, those who remain – will be taking to the dance floor for another shot at impressing the judges and climbing the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard and, after being in the bottom two last week, Adam will need to pull out all the stops.

Olympic gold medallist Adam Peaty has been paired with professional dance partner Katya Jones and they will be hoping they can deliver the goods and make it to Week Eight.

The Strictly Come Dancing songs and dances for Week Seven have now been revealed, and the pair will be doing the Jive to Little Bitty Pretty One by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers.

As he continues his Strictly journey, here's everything you need to know about Adam Peaty.

Adam Peaty is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and eight-time World Champion in swimming. He recently become the first British swimmer to successfully defend a title at the Olympic Games.

He won gold at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the Men's 100m Breaststroke, and has amassed a total of three gold and two silver medals.

Peaty holds the world record in 50 metre and 100 metre breaststroke events and in 2017 he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to swimming.

Adam's Strictly journey

Scoreboard

Week One: Cha Cha (7 + 7 + 8 + 8) = 30

Week Two: Quickstep (4 + 5+ 5 + 5) = 19

Week Three: Rumba (4 + 5 + 5 + 6) = 20

Week Four: Argentine Tango (8 + 8 + 8 + 8) = 32

Week Five: Samba (7 + 7 + 8 +7) = 29

Week Six: Viennese Waltz (6 + 8 + 8 +7) = 29

It was a great start in the competition for Adam, although the Quickstep saw him drop down the leaderboard in Week Two, and Week Three proved difficult for the Olympic swimmer, who finished in last place with just 20 points for his Rumba. His emotional Tango in Week Four earned him an impressive 32. He took a dip in Week Five, but not by much.

BBC Radio 1 broke the news of Peaty joining the Strictly Come Dancing line-up, with Newsbeat's Steve Holden chatting to the Olympian.

"I think this will come as a surprise to a lot of people, but I’m so excited to finally share the news that I’ll be joining Strictly this year," he said in a statement.

"I’m really looking forward to doing something totally different and challenging myself away from the pool. I’m hoping my competitive nature is going to compensate for my dancing abilities!"

Let's see how Adam does in Week Six.
